Industrial Design

Bio

Morich portrait.

Kristine Morich was educated at the Rhode Island School of Design and received a BFA in industrial design. Midway through her studies she developed a strong interest in ceramics, and was hooked after the first kiln she fired. Since then she has tapped into the correlation between industrial design and ceramics, and the natural cross-pollination between the disciplines. Kristine thrives on working with materials directly through the fabrication process. After graduation, Kristine moved to New York City where she worked as a freelance designer for a variety of independent artists and designers. In 2008, she founded her own design studio that focuses on ceramic tableware and tabletop products. Bernhardt Design featured Kristine’s line of Landscape Tableware at the 2008 International Contemporary Furniture Fair. She was one of eight emerging designers selected to show at the ICFF Studio. She returned to the Northwest in the spring of 2009, to continue her practice as a ceramist and designer.
